CATS are our ONLY business

Dr. Beth A. Buchanan

Dr. Buchanan is a native Floridian who has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1984.  She received her undergraduate degree and veterinary degree from The University of Florida (Go Gators!).  She worked as an associate veterinarian in several practices before co-owning a cat hospital in Tampa.  She eventually moved back over to the east coast.  Dr. Buchanan worked here in Brevard county as a relief veterinarian while planning The Cat Doctor.  "Dr. B.", as some call her, owns 14 cats! Seven of the lucky cats live at our clinic.  She loves all animals, but has a special passion for cats! The Cat Doctor opened in March of 2004.  Dr. Buchanan felt that a hospital just for cats would be her dream job.  She thinks that cats are such unique creatures, which makes them interesting to work with.  Needless to say, her dream job has become a reality!

           Shannon Finn, veterinary technician

Shannon has been working at The Cat Doctor since 2006 and has been in the veterinary field for 8 years. Cats are her first love so she has been a perfect fit here. She has become Dr. Buchanan's right hand "man" since she knows most of the clients and cats by name. Shannon and her boyfriend own 6 cats, two of which are former clinic cats here, and two dogs.

        Tracy Kelly, certified veterinary technician

Tracy has been working here since the fall of 2010. She graduated from BCC's veterinary technician program 7 years ago. She also teaches at the BCC program so she's not always able to be here.  Tracy is working on getting her B.S. degree in veterinary technology from St. Pete College via a distance learning program. Tracy has 2 dogs, a cat, a son and a husband. She stays very busy with school, two jobs and her family!

                    Rachel Lopez, receptionist

Rachel has been with us since last fall when she moved back to the area. She used to work at Animal Specialty Hospital as a receptionist so we were glad to find someone so experienced to help us out. She has 1 cat and 2 rats and they are all friends. Rachel also has two sons and a daughter who keep her plenty busy when she's not here.
