Leah, previously called Lenora, came to us from a shelter where she was not leading a very happy life. She is a beautiful cat and quite a diva. Unfortunately, she does not play well with others so she stays in the kennel. Leah recently was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which is a very common disease in older cats. If left untreated, the cat can go into heart failure. Leah was treated at Animal Specialty Hospital by Dr. Thomas Smith, a veterinary internist, with radioactive iodine. This is the cure for hyperthyroidism so Leah is now disease free.
